Gnomerheim, the most prominent gnome city in the world, is in the French Pyrenees next to Lac de Gaube, in a mountainous forest within a mythical realm. To gain access to this city, one must believe, wish, and be granted permission. While it is visible to all, only those who meet these requirements can enter.
The city is designed with a puzzle-like architecture featuring towering structures and roads and bridges. Its purpose is to provide a welcoming home for all gnomish societies to carry out their extraordinary work within the mythical realm. Gnomerheim was created to make all gnomish societies feel at home. Although gnomes usually dwell underground, they often go outside for work and leisure. The gnomes can navigate the earth as easily as they can travel above ground. Each society has its own “mini town” with designated inhabitants. The Society Leader is responsible for supervising the work within their society.
Mystical Assembly – This society of magicians live within the edge of the city that is magically built under Lac de Gaube.
Leafy Alliance – This society of gardeners live along the edge of the forest and Lac de Gaube.
Prospectors League – This society of miners within the cave systems of the city in the mountain next to Lac de Gaube.
Gnomish Tinkerhood – This society of engineers and tinkers live in the forested area of the city.
The City Government of Gnomerheim is headed by the Merchant Lord, who serves as the unofficial leader of all things gnomish. Two council members support the Merchant Lord in the day-to-day operations of the government. The four gnomish societies meet and elect the Merchant Lord and council members every ten years.
