As we get closer to releasing our first game through Kickstarter, we decided to show off our logo for Gnock. A logo serves as the visual representation of the game, often providing the first impression that potential players will have. Here are some aspects of logo creation we took into consideration:
- Appeal to the Target Audience: Kids are attracted to bright colors, fun shapes, and whimsical designs. A logo that appeals to children is more likely to capture their attention and make them curious about the game.
- Memorability: A well-designed logo sticks in people’s minds. For a card game, having a memorable and engaging logo can help build brand recognition and encourage repeat play.
- Trust and Credibility: A professional-looking logo can convey a sense of trust and credibility. Parents are more likely to trust a game with a polished and appealing logo, knowing that thought and effort have been put into its creation.
- Differentiation: In a sea of games and entertainment options, a unique logo sets a game apart from the competition. It helps to create a distinct identity and makes the game more easily recognizable.
- Brand Consistency: The logo sets the tone for the overall branding of the game. Consistent use of the logo across different platforms and marketing materials helps to reinforce the brand and build a cohesive identity.
- Emotional Connection: A well-crafted logo has the power to evoke emotions and create a connection with the audience. For kids, this could mean sparking their imagination, curiosity, or sense of fun.
Creating a stunning logo for a kids’ card game is not just about aesthetics; it’s a strategic decision that can impact how the game is perceived, remembered, and ultimately, enjoyed. We believe we have accomplished this with the logo for Gnock. Part of the game requires people to knock when they feel they can win the round. Giving the feel of an old-style doorknocker on the logo brings the idea of knocking within the game. Now why a troll face in the logo? Generally, when you see a knocker on a door, you may see some fantastical creature or ‘baddie’ on the knocker. Within the game of Gnock, one of the arch-nemeses of the Gnomish culture is the troll; and the troll plays a minor role within the game through a potential troll attack through an instant action card. What better way to represent an arch-nemesis within the game than through the knocker on the logo?
We will be releasing Gnock on Kickstarter very soon. To learn more about the game and keep up-to-date on the game release, please consider joining our email list.
